For me, it took years. Probably started in 2012 and very gradually led me to become the Bernie Bro I am today Theory: Objectivists oppose the status quo and want radical change. It's easier for an Oist to adopt an ideology of radical change than to become a status quo liberal

And it became increasingly obvious to me how our system works to keep people in cycles of poverty or cycles of wealth. I was a capitalist because I thought we had a level playing field and a meritocracy. We don't. So we need a better solution

I couldn't go around believing that people are Good or Evil, if that makes sense. I couldn't see the world through Randian judgement. Because I'd have to kill myself. We are all so weak, we all try so hard Over time, my politics shifted to match my reconstructed self
