Like Spencer, I am SICKENED that Gallagher will neither be punished nor lose rank. He is a war criminal and a murderer. Trump's message that stabbing children to death and gunning down little girls is permissable makes me ashamed to be an American and a veteran.
To the people who are arguing that Spencer should have shut up and followed orders, that as an unelected official he has no right to act on his own conscience, I have a simple message:
"Do as you're told" is a profoundly un-American sentiment. If you believe in blind obedience to unjust orders, you should leave this country and make room for some immigrants to become actual Americans. I'm very serious. Get the fuck out of my country.
(My rage comes from a place of terror. People who believes this would kill you or me if told to, and it's not impossible that they will be told to do something very much like that in the not-so-distant future) (All of this has happened before and will happen again)
