It's not a stigma in the rest of the world Sam, just in the good ol' US of A.

That's what the documentary was saying, but it's definitely a thing in Canada too. Hopefully it will die out in the next few generations.

Not really, canada's circumcision rates are under 1/3, even in the highest rate province, Alberta, they are still below 50%. There are provinces the rate is so low they record it as statistically 0, like NFLD.
-
It's still too high, 1 in 3 boys in the country is too many. In my mind 1 boy who didn't consent and has no actual medical need and a gross possible benefit is not a need (reduction in rates of penile cancer or UTIs, even if true, is a gross possible benefit, not a net benefit)

And not true

Agreed, looking at the original sources of the information, infection studies from a time where forced retraction was the norm (which creates a higher risk of infection), bad methodologies in HIV studies, and over all benefits that are the same as someone with proper hygiene.
-
Unfortunately I'm from Alberta, and I've only met a couple guys that weren't cut. Almost 50% is pretty high. It's cool that there are provinces that are nearly 0% though.
-
Remember that's the circumcision rate we're talking about here, not the percentage of the adult population that is cut. The numbers have been going down heavily since the 80s, so anyone in their 30s now was born when the rates were MUCH higher.

Thank you for speaking up! It will only change when women (moms) speak out. Most dads don't care, are ignorant, or wont admit to their penis being defective due to mutilation against their will.
