One thing YIMBYs and their anti-CEQA allies willfully ignore is all of the land UC Berkeley controls. Plenty of green space, old buildings, and stadiums that could become high-rises. Instead, they want to pave over People's Park and shift their "housing crisis" off campus.

That's not even the half of it. Berkeley owns all the green hills to the east of campus, stretching over *2 different counties. Check this map out:

UC Berkeley has as much land devoted to the US DOE as it does to its entire student campus. But most people don't even know it's there, bc they're up there making nuclear bombs and robot super soldiers with death ray laser eyes or whatever. Boot that out and build some dorms.
