There were a myriad of reasons why we found ourselves in that position but purely and simply the umpire cost us with a shocker of a non-decision. He was in the perfect position to have seen it was absolutely plumb.

Yes we wasted a review etc etc but reviews aren’t in the game for those non calls they are in the game for line calls. That should be given out every day of the week.
-
No it’s the complete opposite! Reviews were brought in for the howlers not borderline calls or trying to buy a wicket with a desperation review

Not as horrific as Tim Paines decision to review an LBW that pitched nearly a foot outside leg. They knew it wasn’t out but reviewed it anyway. Yes it was a horrendous call by Wilson but Aussies only have themselves to blame.

Absolutely not Paines fault and nothing to do with using his review. It’s about the umpiring decision and failure to give it out. Joel Wilson has every opportunity to get that right- England still had a review so could have even hedged his bets. Absolute shocker.

Exactly... the intelligent call was to give it out if it’s 50/50 to ensure the correct decision was made. But it wasn’t even 50/50. Joel Wilson is a stinker.

Don’t waste referrals on hope and keep them for this shit pretty basic! That’s what they were brought in for!
