In-app browsers bad for users, but terrible for web devs: 1. Layout is often off 2. Various APIs are missing or misbehave 3. Debugging is close to impossible 4. Apps do weird s**t, like preloading pages in the background, throwing off bounce-rate and click-through measurements

You can use the Cloth Brush directly on meshes with millions of vertices by tweaking the simulation's limits and falloff. The solver ignores everything outside the limits and the cloth will automatically change its elasticity in the falloff area to avoid artifacts.

If you're a survivor of the 90's '16 bit console wars' - maybe it's time to learn about the competition? I have programming tutorials on all the major 'combatants'. NeoGeo: Super Nintendo: Mega Drive:

💙Thanks so much to the Polymer team at Google and esp. for the thoughtful celebratory bottle! 🍾🎉Indeed, bringing modern web components standards to Microsoft Edge has been a roundabout journey... So happy for what this enables going forward!

As mentions this is how the web has evolved for decades. I certainly don't agree with all API or system changes that have happened over the years, but stochastic progress is probably better than irrelevance. "Only on App Store" scares me a lot more than weird web apis

We just released Filament 1.4.5. A few bug fixes and a new library for Android: filament-utils-android. This library helps you load KTX files, glTF files, provides math APIs, a camera manipulator, and ModelViewer, to easily display a glTF file in your app.

Just found out is using to showcase the XB-1! Implementation is super nice, with transparency effects to explore the guts of the plane. Also - while this could be optimized - nice to see 2.8M polys running smoothly in the browser :)

<lottie-player>: An awesome web component for playing Lottie files: notes that it helps reduce CPU usage for multiple animations on a page.

Great talk about lit-element! It shows you that there are a lot of things you can implement without the need of big libraries, like routing, dependency injection and state management. By

This is so key. The thing no other approach can deliver is *de facto interop*. A side effect is smaller tools and components, which also reduces functional pressure to avoid a "library". 10 copies of Lit fit in the footprint of React, but you *mostly* gain sharing & reuse.
