This is so bizarre to me All of this knowledge was extremely accessible prior to ChatGPT, yet the information being delivered by the chatbot seems to convey some sort of mystic properties that make it hit differently

I suspect that while the engagement bait aspect explains some amount of it (more or less? Unclear) - there’s also a similar if not the same psychological trick creating a sense of accountability to “someone” that also makes some people say “please” and “thank you” to it
