the safety thing raised by others is a good point I hadn't considered! my hang up has always been that it's yet another thing we yank up out of the ground. it's new coal. solar panels are 100% recyclable and provide like broadly infinite power.

Terrible news - solar panels require mining too and the supply chain is dominated by authoritarian regimes Aus has the worlds largest reserves of uranium too - we could control the spice

I didn’t mean to sound flippant - but I don’t think the recyclability of solar outweighs its costs

we're going to be mining either way. one, with proper investment (that I honestly don't see happening in my lifetime because of big coal) only has to be mined once.
