I don't know why it's like this but the friction is obvious
I used to work at a city centre casino where people would commute for hours to get to their shift work jobs. Same for uni huge travel times. Massive failure imo

The manifest destiny of Australia is to simply cover the entire continent in single family homes with huge front and back yards, have cryogenically frozen boomers own them all and maintain the population somewhere below 30 million until the heat death of the universe

I don't know where you've been, but here, all the boomers and Gen Xers are destroying properties by building second houses in the front or back yards, and selling them both off (bc they don't want to live with someone else in their front or back yards; but other people should)
