realizing how much of how I view the world comes down to thinking about three things:
1. we're living in an era of almost unbounded technological potential upside
2. we're emeshed in systems that are increasingly trending towards chaos and collapse
3. the tension between 1 and 2

Patience & urgency will both be important to have. The difference between jumping the gun too early & being a laggard isn't large when dealing with rapid (much less truly exponential) change.
