This has become crazy. No sense of perspective, no balancing of human priorities. NZ is at 90% first dose of over-12s — a higher rate even than Australia. How do we know there won’t be a worse variant in five months’ time?

Got some bad news Josh - this adventure has shown authoritarian govs can deal with “irritant-tier” pandemics better than more liberal ones - which creates a geopolitical incentive structure to have new strains/pandemics emerge one way or another. This is new Cold War normal
