When you realize that most of what happens in the halls of power these days consists of petty backstabbing and jockeying for position the lack of any serious governing starts to make a lot more sense

The "democratic" system and the clerical order that it sits atop are so nonfunctional at this point that they're hardly worth calling a government anymore
It's basically just infrastructure for apportioning the resources accumulated by the state to the well-connected
