People always say "dire demographic news in China" as if it's not worse in America. Whoever figures out how to not go extinct wins the 21st century by default. But I wonder if this will work. It will take more than talk to give people the needed life energy.

No state anywhere has yet even bothered paying women hundreds of thousands of dollars, as opposed to $10,000 or so at most, to have a baby. It would almost certainly work, and it would let the babies all be raised normally.

I certainly wouldn't put it past the state to attempt to take complete control of raising children, but to do what you're talking about takes a level of will and commitment that by all indications is totally lacking. 2100 is 79 years away, so who knows, but I doubt it.
