As a society, I don’t think we’re freaking out enough about deepfake technology.

Seems like this is what NFTs should actually be used for. Guaranteeing authenticity, uniqueness, source owner and copyright infringement. Can't imagine any platform not integrating NFTs for every source/type of content that is created. Would largely extinguish deepfake imo

The token would function as your "verification" sign. That this is authentic content. My guess is that that sign of validation would make a huge difference. Any person or media that picks up on "unvalidated" content is only discrediting themselves.

I dunno, if we had some streamlined mechanism for identifying which videos had gone through whatever verification process exists, humans may just adapt to disregard everything that hasn't as fake. Convincing deepfakes will be so ubiquitous we'll have no choice.

Yes and do we think raising the barrier for entry in colleges is helping or hurting this? We can’t expect people to think rationally if we purposely keep them from critical information!
