It's quite the opposite in reality
I've worked tons of jobs where I neither spoke to nor knew any of my co workers
I was there to work, not to socialize.
Guess what? It was far more efficient across the board.
Then I went home to socialize.

That's not an exaggeration. I've worked jobs where we risked our lives daily and still didn't socialize.
It's literally not required for a functional team.
Granted the work was so brutal everyone was too tired to socialize lol
