I am an unashamed fanboy of ⁦⁩ . His religion of service is the foundation of what I believe as a designer. I am so excited to share his new book, narrated by the author—who is, truly, a very remarkable narrator. If you work in product:

How bad is it when your therapist texts you to say she can’t be your therapist anymore because she quit being a therapist?

I’m sort of loving the fact that many in big tech look down on retail as if it’s second class. Got news for you: this group has more design maturity than any team I’ve ever joined—and they are insanely biased to action.

Two weeks into Walmart Health. It’s been a true joy. Wonderful PM and eng team, a company wide all day design summit with 145 designers, and really hard problems to solve.

Anyone have any advice for a 20-something starting out in dev and desperately wanting to learn how to do it? Course? Online community? He has long been obsessed with AI.
Knowing when and how to steer #ux direction from a well-worn path to something decidedly is a delicate art form in and of itself. The process of convincing people to reframe the problem in the moment when deadlines loom is the hardest thing a designer will ever have to do.

I was fortunate to serve on a roundtable with Harrison last fall, and his podcast has become a favorite for me. This, in particular, is really compelling—talking about seeking true diversity rather than just talking about it.
I don’t know who this person is, but I find her insights and empathy remarkable.

This post is the first of a short series on addictions. Please, read. There's an unsaid expectation for believers 'not to struggle with this'- especially in light of some who seem to be miraculously saved from these habits. As someone who struggled too, thank God for them,

With the ongoing mass layoffs in so-called big tech, the migration and cross-pollination of experienced talent to companies with deep tech stacks and real business models—it has the potential to reinvent a whole lot of very important companies in our economy.

I spoke to @0empathy0 about the music industry, creation vs. execution, agile, and simple approaches to visual design quality, for my interview series. My thanks to Mike for taking the time. anthonyhobday.com/sideprojects/h

If doing wireframes helps you do better work—do wireframes for you. No one needs to validate them for them to be valuable and constructive. In fact, no one other than you even needs to see them.

A VP of design at a major financial firm bewilderingly told me his company wouldn’t let him do wireframes. I asked: What would they do if you did wireframes? Would they fire you? He said no. So I asked him why he was seeking permission to do his job?

How many times do I have to tell that I don’t want to see gambling ads before they stop showing me gambling ads? Asking for a friend.

Spent the afternoon at the legendary Dark Horse Studio campus with my old friends Keith Thomas and Loren Balman. So good to share some creative time.

I know some truly remarkable people who are looking for work today. A great PO. An amazing TPM. A rock star UXD and UXR. These are folks trained in the way, who loved their work and their coworkers, who know healthcare inside and out. The best of the best.

250 wonderful, funny, empathetic folks were let go from my company today. Some left great jobs just a few months ago to join. Bought into the vision and mission, gave it all to change the future. Now they're out. Getting too old for this. Very sad.

I’ve discovered that senior designers, particularly in tech, have different needs than juniors or mid-level designers. I’ve been thinking about how I might best connect, cross-pollinate and network with senior designers. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions we can try?

Something I have tried to internalize as a #uxdesigner is to ask the right questions. “How did you make the decision to do X?” “What surprised you about the outcomes that you didn’t anticipate?” “What do you wish you had known prior to moving forward?”

One of the best things about Twitter is the ability to have conversations with people you otherwise could/would never meet in a million years. It’s something I try to not take for granted, or over-impose on people. But it is amazing what I have learned by simply asking questions.
