  1. @buridan So what does IGI do? I don't recall if I've dealt with them directly, but ataglance they look pretty similar business-wise to SAGE.
  2. @Cali4beach Oh OK that's cool. So I guess if I get something my box today, I'll just assume it's not for me.
  3. @mithulucraft Thanks for the clarification. I was going off this: http://convergence.beds.ac....
  4. I'm sure it makes sense for some people, and maybe it makes sense for other fields, but it's not for me when there are open-access options.
  5. For all those asking for clarification re:anti-SAGE tweet, I dislike and choose not to support closed-access academic publishing.
  6. @thebookfool For all I know they may not be bad to work for, but I'm take a principled stand against closed-access web publishing in general
  7. @simonFerrari Also SAGE reserves copyright of your content, which is common I guess even in OA, but it still bugs me.
  8. @simonFerrari Because it's closed access == no one can read your article without an (expensive) institutional subscription.
  9. Just read through an interesting CFP and starting making plans to submit -- until I read the phrase "It is published by SAGE publications."
  10. Today was a beautiful afternoon for a run. I did 14 miles in 1:39, which will be my longest training for the half-marathon in two weeks.
  11. ... by their intellectual curiosity, creativity, and hard work. #engl376 [2/2]
  12. I'd like to make it known that I really like my #engl376 class. I know we have a lot still to do, but I've been consistently impressed [1/2]
  13. @BahktinJali Are you looking in Google's patent search? That place can be an amazing time sink. Have you seen this one: http://is.gd/55XiW ?
  14. That last mile was the fastest I've run in quite a while. Years, probably.
  15. My run this evening was to do 6 miles with negative splits. I went 7:38 , 7:15 , 7:02 , 6:41 , 6:43, 6:03.
  16. @pragmanic It was! I was a little worried about the mahi mahi since my grill didn't want to get hot enough, but it turned out great.
  17. Our thanksgiving meal == grilled fish, asparagus, butternut squash, cranberry chutney, cranberry orange soda bread. Next up: dessert!
  18. #dogshow update: baby daughter has continued to squeal "Teddy!" every few seconds for the past 25 minutes.
  19. @academicdave So is that a problematic assertion within a Emerging Media program? I was hired to teach "New Media," for example. :)
  20. @academicdave You could say the same of "digital media" (I am, for example, in a proposal I'm working on.)
