  1. @sleggat No photos. Would be a very interesting set.
  2. In the back room of a 酒店...
  3. @sleggat No, I haven't been to KGB in a while. Wines and ales are certainly available in Taipei, just not available enough.
  4. @sleggat Ha. All of the above, unfortunately. My life is dominated by crap beer these days. I miss good wines and ales.
  5. @sleggat Taiwanese are big drinkers, there's just no pub/bar culture here. Sadly. I want my happy hour back.
  6. My Google Reader shared items: http://www.google.com/reade...
  7. I'm finding the new "XX people liked this" feature of Google Reader very helpful in highlighting items to pay attention to.
  8. I need a dentist recommendation in Taipei.
  9. Just watched Lesner v Mir. How was that entertaining in anyway? Just a huge man lying on top of someone pounding away.
  10. I'll use QIM until the trial expires and then use FIT for an equal amount of time before deciding whether to buy QIM. I suspect that I will.
  11. @thefeast They both do. Go ahead & install them to try! I shouldn't have waited until now to try myself instead of running back to my PC.
  12. @thefeast I think it has more to do with the all-you-can-eat-ness of the hotpot restaurants. AYCE grills are packed year round too.
  13. @thefeast I know, OSX's built-in pinyin input is shit. I'm testing QIM & FIT at the same time right now. Both good, but QIM slightly better.
  14. Downloading FIT to try as well. But it looks like development has ceased on that. It's free though, always a plus.
  15. I'm trying out QIM (pinyin input method). It's significantly better than the one built into OS X.
  16. Taiwan gov't encourages electricity conservation by giving discounts to people who use less than same period last year.
  17. I've used 33% less electricity so far this summer compared to last summer. But I'll bet I've sweated 333% more.
  18. The nighttime temperature is in the 80s but every hotpot place in Taipei is packed.
  19. @sanbit Oh ya? Will check it out. Thanks for the tip!
  20. The scarcity of trash receptacles in Taipei is a major annoyance.
