  1. @EyeOnAfrica You have every right to boast--well done!
  2. 3 years into our tour and suffering from my first bout of saddle sores. Guess that means more time in the saddle, less in the supermarket.
  3. We've left the Pacific Coast tourist trail and are heading into the Mojave desert . Let's hope some adventure awaits--life's been too easy.

  7. The Oregon Coast awaits--back on the road tomorrow for more stunning scenery in the Pacific Northwest. We've got to out pedal the snow.
  8. Pedaled into Portland Friday night after a magnificent ride through the Columbia Gorge--some of the best cycling in America.
  9. On the road again tomorrow--the butterflies are playing tricks on me. Leaving the known to face the unknown never gets easier.
  10. Last week taking it easy in Montana before we hit the road again, heading for Oregon. Then we make a big left turn towards Mexico.

  14. Leaving Ogden, Utah for the home stretch to Montana---just two more high Rocky Mountain passes to go.
  15. Got caught in a violent storm cycling through arid Eastern Utah--not much here but sagebrush, sandstone cliffs and spectacular sunsets..
  16. Conquered Hoosier Pass--3,400 meters (11,562 feet)--the high point of our trip but not nearly as tough as Lesotho. Now in Steamboat Sprgs.
  17. Preparing to take on Colorado's Hoosier Pass tomorrow--11,500 feet--hope we're up to the challenge.
  18. After an old-fashioned sing along, sighteseeing, and some tasty home cooking at our Kansas couchsurfing hosts, hitting the road again.
  19. Getting a real work out for the legs as we scale Missouri's never-ending hills--the flatlands of Kansas are just a day away.
  20. Cooling off in a Kentucky library getting inspired by this post http://bit.ly/eM3lD
