  3. @jmk89 The cherry palette pieces came from palettes supporting large rolls of metal. Surprised by cherry but it's all about hard wood.
  4. @KariHultman The only time I've used pumice was on flat surfaces so no.
  5. @KariHultman All of the newer "don't rust" hex keys are made of fairly soft wire. Sometimes rusty is a good indicator :-)
  6. @KariHultman A Dremel makes the "hex key" approach useful but you need to hit a flea market and find rusty ones. pt 1
  7. @KariHultman That's pumice, Kari. A finer version is rottenstone which is use to polish finishes.
  8. @KariHultman A very good idea, Kari. I've shaped a couple using a Dremel tool and grinding disks.
  9. @WoodShepherd Why? If it were me I'd throw it all on a DVD or two and stick it on a shelf. There is no cost to this but throwing it out?
  10. @KariHultman Another possibility is to take some piano wire, bend over the end into a hoe-shape, and file an edge on it.
  11. @KariHultman It would certainly be simple enough to bend the Dockside chisels. 1/16" is pretty big compared to 1.5mm. pt1
  12. @KariHultman Just picked up the carving thread. How small is your smallest chisel? I have some that are 1.5mm wide. Would that work?
  13. @fwmagazine Is it appropriate that people are repeatedly posting the same comment over and over and over?
  14. @GarageWW In any case, congrats on a great get.
  15. @GarageWW Geez....why doesn't my mom have stuff like that? I would love to own a 45.
  16. @RenaissanceWW Yep, that was the thing I saw about the WS as I do hand-hone my chisels BECAUSE they're hollow-ground.
  17. @RenaissanceWW [Larry's eyes get wide] I'd love to have a slow-grind system for turning tools.
  18. @RenaissanceWW Have never owned a powered miter saw. They look handy if you're doing house moulding. Otherwise...
  19. @RenaissanceWW Clearly the Tormek is a better unit. I've thought of buying a WS, though, as I'd only use power rarely.
  20. @GrecoWoodcraft I think I can as the situation is not only stupid; it's frustrating.
