  1. Something to read on Independence Day: http://bit.ly/FcnIw
  2. Today's Ted.com Q: Black & White or Color? Why?
  3. Happy Independence Day to folks in the US. Be safe, don't do anything stupid with fireworks.
  4. More on the "tort reform" myth: http://bit.ly/1tNyD
  5. @A_F "tort reform" is a bumper-sticker saying created by the insurance industry that wants to pay out $0 in claims, no matter the harms.
  6. Today's TED.com Q of the Day: What is the future of the thank you note? My follow up: How long since you wrote one (pen and paper)?
  7. Today's Wine Fact: in wine, dry means "not sweet"--not drying out your mouth. If you don't like dry mouth, ask for wines with *low tannins*
  8. Today's Wine Tip: For a different Riesling experience, find one from Germany with "trocken" on the label--it's completely dry/not sweet.
  9. #followfriday: @film_girl @SteveWorrall @GrantGriffiths @dhonig2 @insidethemagic @PRsarahevans @PrivacyLaw @CopyrightLaw @InternetLaw
  10. @askspikeonline Kids locked in cars in the summer, always a tragedy. It's quite cool that you can read! My goldens will be jealous.
  11. @askspikeonline Because some people don't care about leaving their dogs in locked cars with no ventilation. Some people are just rotten.
  12. RT @anamariecox: I'm looking for video of that insane WH briefing last week where they discussed NICO PITNEY GATE for HOURS. Help?
  13. RT @deafmom: The Native American Tecumseh once said, “One stick breaks easily, but a bundle of sticks is hard to break.”
  14. RT @astronomy2009: #IYA2009 has just made a Flickr group. Spread the word, join, and add photos! http://www.flickr.com/group...
  15. @randulo OK, got it on the chilling and un-chilling the reds--that's a good point: don't let your reds get too warm!
  16. @randulo Chilled reds don't do much for me, but Sangria is a good alternative!
  17. Today's Wine Factoid: Zinfandel seems to be found only in the US (although Italy's Primitivo looks like the same grape in terms of DNA)
  18. Today's Wine Tip: For your July 4th cookout, try a Zinfandel. Works great with steaks, burgers, just about everything else on the grill.
  19. Today's TED Question: What will we need as we live longer lives? Plenty there to think about...
  20. I just helped call out Sen. Mary Landrieu. Will you? http://tinyurl.com/nryv3p #money #health #p2 # tcot via @Change_Congress
