  1. This will help to cool the water, further improving conditions for bigger pulses of sardines to move up the coast.
  2. Strongish north easterlies forecast for the next three days.
  3. Great White sharks are not known to feed on sardines however.
  4. We saw a small great white shark right up against Brazenhead two days ago.
  5. Really hoping for some baitball action tomorrow on Sardine Run 2009, lets see if the common dolphin can deliver!
  6. Surely this must signal the arrival of a shoal of Sardinops sagax sardines in the area, along with the appearance of the Bryde's whales...
  7. Apparently the common dolphin pod seen today was more in the region of 3000 to 4000 animals.
  8. Spent today editing and uploading action shot over the last three days to Earth - Touch HQ.
  9. Very good weather forecast for Port St Johns tomorrow on Sardine Run 2009.
  10. Great news that they are back in the area.
  11. Another boat at sea saw a large pod of around 1000 common dolphin this morning.
  12. Upload day today, so no sea time for the Earth - Touch Marine crew following the 2009 Sardine Run.
  13. Also first Bryde's whale, which is a great sign.
  14. Saw a pod of between 500 and 1000 bottlenose dolphin, slowly moving north.
  15. Cold thermocline of clean water at around 15 meters, four kilometres out to sea.
  16. Looks like things may be turning off Port St Johns.
  17. Still no solid reports of major activity up or down the coast.
  18. Again the forecast is good - we are expecting light variable easterly winds to blow most of the day, dropping off towards the afternoon.
  19. A long day at sea planned for today on Sardine Run 2009.
  20. Another uneventful day - good news is that the water clarity is holding, although its starting to look like sardine water, green...
