  1. &wrote "Ted Baxter's Famous Broadcasters' School" RT @ShawnRyanTV Director of [Turkeys Away], Michael Zinberg, directed last week's #LieToMe
  2. @ShawnRyanTV And he also wrote one of the funniest MARY TYLER MOORE episodes, "Ted Baxter's Famous Broadcasters' School."
  3. @stayingin I think season 2 is the best BUFFY season; it has the perfect mix of ambitious and cheesy, and the most individually-strong eps.
  4. @JustinFowler Networks never really gave up laugh tracks, they just let music take their place (M*A*S*H had a laugh track & almost no music)
  5. ...most of these shows' scores sound exactly the same (there's a certain type of mild "comedy" music they all use).
  6. Not just BONES, obviously. The overuse of mood music in network hour-long shows is something that really gets to me, particularly since...
  7. Watching BONES and again remembering that I disagree with the current practice of putting music under any scene that's supposed to be funny.
  8. WKRP Thanksgiving ep "Turkeys Away" with the real music: http://zvbxrpl.blogspot.com...
  9. @Memles Another Britton vote.
  10. @adambarken My own view is that these twisted takes on genres often hold up less well than the real thing, but you can't see into the future
  11. @adambarken I forgive them everything for provoking the angry comment berating them for leaving out Best Picture nominees. Like that's bad.
  12. @adambarken Also the list suggests that comedies and genre pictures barely exist, but that happens... Some will emerge as classics later.
  13. @adambarken Certainly a very intelligently-selected top 10, though ETERNAL SUNSHINE's one of my big blind sports (which only reflects on me)
  14. Who's creepier: Little Dot, with her Freudian dot obsession, or Little Lotta, who teaches kids that obesity = super-strength?
  15. It's the talking point that pisses me off the most: fake stories that we hate our health-care system and go flocking to the U.S. for care.
  16. I don't know if Sarah Palin believes that we Canadians hate our socialized medical system. However, her audience definitely believes that.
  17. @adambarken That is good. But then Thanksgiving pageants are sort of in between - they can be good or bad episodes.
  18. I am repeating my Thanksgiving TV Rule: Episodes about disastrous Thanksgivings = good. Fantasy episodes with characters as pilgrims = bad.
  19. @sarahw Never found those commercials on YouTube but did find some guy parodying them in 1992: http://www.youtube.com/watc...
  20. The Shrill One compares Obama to Ramsay MacDonald http://bit.ly/5G0613 - I only knew MacDonald from Python sketch where he does a striptease
