  1. Water....Good.....Gatorade....Better.....Red Bull....Bad..... Don't drink liquids with lots of sodium....Will make you thirsty
  2. Lots of dry carbs are good the night before the race. Sugars not so good. They provide good rush, but it goes away quickly
  3. If you get tired during open water swim, don't float on your back unless you are alone. You will get runover. Trust me.
  4. When open water swimming and tired, transition to breaststroke. It will give much needed rest and better vision to keep your bearings.
  5. Oops, a little late...keep elbows high when swimming. This allows the lower part of your arm to recover before entering the water.
  6. Tip #3: Train sometimes with water in your mouth. Practice opening your mouth and filling it up with water, then slowly spitting it out.

  11. Finished a Triathlon training class this morning. Went well. Lookinf forward to more.
  12. Drove 8 1/2 hours today. Had to cancel a lesson(Hate that), and now getting ready for four afternoon lessons.
  13. Cancellation tonight. I think she is a little too nervous
  14. Don't usually teach on Sunday, but have one with a pretty nervous adult at 8pm.
  15. Three lessons this morning. Good lessons, Now sitting and listening to the storm laughing. I won todayl.
  16. Got a lesson in today, Whoo hoo!! 6 year old scared of water. Got him to Glide in first 45 minutes. Can't wait til Tuesday
  17. Another day, more cancelled swim lessons. Come on Mother Nature, I need some help
  18. Swim lessons and thunder don't mix. Missed three today.
