  1. Ducks are on the move in the Mississippi Flyway today. Flights are heavy along the Mississippi and Missouri River corridors in IA and IL.
  2. Current storm has snows, specs and Canada geese activity excellent in both the Pacific and Central Flyways, with duck activity lagging.
  3. Ducks are on the move in the Pacific Northwest. Widgeon, teal and pintail numbers are increasing dramatically in the Sacramento Valley.
  4. Ducks are on the move in the Central Flyway. The first heavy flights of birds were reported in MT, ND and SD over the past 24 hours.
  5. Canvasback numbers are near peak on the upper Mississippi River with overall diver numbers good to excellent in the Great Lakes Region.
  6. The latest Mississippi River Survey for Illinois reports Gadwall numbers increasing with wigeon, pintail and green-winged teal reducing.
  7. Snow goose numbers in Bombay Hook NWR reached 10,000 this week. Wood ducks continue to provide excellent opportunity in the northeast.
  8. Michigan statewide waterfowl average up 20% over 2008. The INH survey shows ducks up along Mississippi River but down on Illinois River.
  9. The Ohio bi-weekly aerial waterfowl survey for the NW Lake Erie Marsh Region reports Scaup numbers nearly double the long-term average.
  10. The Missouri Department of Conservation Mallard Status Map reports that the bulk of the mallard population has settled in northwestern ND.
  11. The first flights of white-fronted geese were reported in north Louisiana over the past few days. Substantial numbers remain further north.
  12. The exodus continues on the U.S Prairie Pothole region with steady flights of waterfowl leaving the Dakotas. A hard push indeed. Game on!
  13. Divers continue to move south into the Great Lakes region with bufflehead leading the way. Gadwall and widgeon activity is up in NE and IA.
  14. The first flights of white-fronted geese have been reported in ND, SD, NE and IA. Flights have been steady throughout the day.
  15. Canvasback, redhead, bufflehead and ringed-neck duck activity is good to excellent in the far northern Central and Mississippi Flyways.
  16. Sandhill Cranes are on the move in the northern Central Flyway and the first flights of snow geese have been reported in North Dakota.
  17. Green-winged teal are riding migrating winds in the northeast. Numbers are increasing in the New England states, NY, DE, NJ and eastern PA.
  18. Ringed-neck duck numbers are on the rise in northern Minnesota. Details can be found on the MNDNR website under weekly waterfowl reports.
  19. Lesser Canada geese are on the move in the Central and Mississippi Flyways. The first flights are appearing in ND, MN, WI, MI and IL.
