  13. @btannebaum A mere JD holder who is never licensed cannot call himself a lawyer under US usage of lawyer = attorney.
  14. @btannebaum Both Russert and Nixon were actually licensed lawyers - to say that they were lawyers previously does not mislead the public.
  15. @btannebaum In both cases a JD or MD holder is a 'Doctor' to the same extent we address anyone with a PhD as Doctor.
  16. @btannebaum A MD holder is only a 'Doctor' by his academic degree and is limited in his usage of title by unauthorized practice of med.
  17. @btannebaum The only thing a JD holder can possibly claim to be is a 'Doctor' by his academic degree Juris Doctor.
