@ Just a heads up, updated to 10.6.2, no issues with nvidia drivers on my 8800gt card. I guess they fixed whatever issues there were.

@ It works reliably as long as you define connect_timeout to 0 and tune your solaris tcp settings to avoid TIME_WAIT bloat

productive day, wrote a flat file to mogilefs storage tool to place fab40 image data onto distributed mogilefs storage.... 39 gigs to go.

@ why? you lost data? Just do the obvious, setup a slave mysql instance to backup whatever critical database, sleep well at night.
