  1. @Beaker Just saw http://twitpic.com/rpt5j What good is a hearse that's too short for a coffin? Leave back door open and use bungee ropes?
  2. @Beaker: It appears I have located the source of my sore knee: http://twitpic.com/tjpia < next time more cropping, less hair. Thanks.
  3. R @midtownninja Even if apps shd be crashresilient are they? < We'll soon find out, won't we?
  4. RT @ShlomoSwidler @midtownninja zapping Spot Instances if market price rises... < SQS great < apps should be instance-crash-resilient anyway
  5. @ruv What are you looking for? Fish & Beer?
  6. @Beaker @BenParr Someone just tried to bribe me for (...) a TWEET, about his startup. <- send them to me! send them to me! will tweet 4 food
  7. @garnaat @ShlomoSwidler You're forgetting about unused reserved instances <- True. Also 3rd party instances in AWS marketplace (eventually).
  8. @ShlomoSwidler Otherwise you just get rid of on-demand instances and it's only reserved+spot. May be the future...
  9. R @ShlomoSwidler R @williamlouth "Yes, but if std not available (insuff. capacity) then no ceiling" <- but then no spot instance anyway.
  10. MSFT complains to EU just to get back at Oracle. Result: a stronger open source mySQL to take away SQL Server sales. #LoveTheIrony
  11. R @theitskeptic RT @vambenepe Monday 10:21AM. Already ingested coffee allowance for the week <- Diet Coke and chocolate <- yes to 1 of the 2
  12. Monday 10:21AM. Already ingested doctor-recommended coffee allowance for the week. What now?
  13. @berkay Huawei is a gig deal now. Scaring everybody in that industry. Not the kind of competition people are used to.
  14. 5 tweets on something I learned about minutes ago is probably enough. No more "EC2 spot instances" off-the-cuffism (until morning at least).
  15. @williamlouth +1. In fact +0.1+0.1+0.2+0.3+0.3 Fine granularity = good.
  16. The AWS rumor/comments/hallelujah community (incl. me) is smaller but just as committed as the anything-from-Apple-is-news gang. Overlap?
  17. R @ShlomoSwidler Re: "Spot Instance true market when I can resell" <- Soon, EC2 price list: "from AMZN $0.12/hr... 41 used from $0.08/hr"
  18. Strange. EC2 API dated 11/30 has "spot instance" support (e.g. RequestSpotInstances). Metadata error or we were blind for 2 weeks?
  19. Today: EC2 spot price. Tomorrow: compute futures. Then derivatives. Then gov bailout of too-big-to-fail Clouds (using NSA servers?)
  20. Will Cloud motivate CS/IT geeks to reconnect with high school friends who went on to study Econ? They're on Facebook, just reach to them!
