  1. #ncsupr re: Job search, schedule is key. When I moved to NC, I treated job searching as a full-time job. Kept me from feeling so desperate!
  2. #ncsupr Never thought about including project management documentation along w/ finished products in a portfolio... good idea.
  3. #ncsupr Linked In has definitely come a long way since my last job search. Can't wait to take advantage of it next time around.
  4. #ncsupr So I just Googled myself. First result was my work profile. Second result was "Testimonies: Life's lessons in love" - lol, NOT me.
  5. #ncsupr Good to hear that communications is an area that quickly rebounds post-bad economic conditions... I'm starting to get nervous!
  6. @jamiemcq15 #ncsupr Completely agree that Assignment 7 would have been better in Excel... I almost switched over.
  7. #ncsupr It's hard to convince non-PR people that social media isn't the only solution; from their perspective, it's new & hot, it must work.
  8. #ncsupr omg, Second Life! It's so bizarre. My VP tried to push it on us a couple of years ago and we fought it... we won. : )
  9. #ncsupr ...president champions a Student Affairs program or decision, it's golden; if they speak out against it (esp. on FB) it's done for.
  10. #ncsupr It's funny - working at Duke, particular students are key influencers. If the student gov't president or inter-fraternity...
  11. #ncsupr This notion of PR/blogger relations really demonstrates that high tech and high touch can work together in productive ways.
  12. #ncsupr Twitter character limit is good practice for preparing short & sweet pitches to bloggers! --making a relevant point super-concisely.
  13. #ncsupr Makes sense that bloggers respect embargoed info; being first with news (in a legit way) will only boost their readership/crediblity
  14. #ncsupr I love the authenticity required of the PR practitioner/blogger/blog audience relationship. Makes the PR job more fun & interesting.
  15. How ridiculous is it that I'm still weirded out by my house's crawl space after seeing Paranormal Activity?!
  16. #ADPR07 - any final thoughts? I will email our Word doc to @NCStatePR first thing tomorrow morning and I'll copy everyone.
  17. #ADPR07: I/OL's impact should be measured based on quality of dialogue w/ audience, not just quantity; what actions does I/OL motivate?
  18. #ADPR07: Relationship between I/OL & audience should be founded on insightful and ongoing two-way communication via blogs, Twitter, etc.
  19. #ADPR07: Relationship between organization and I/OL must be transparent to stakeholders to maintain their trust and respect.
  20. #ADPR07: I/OLs should monitor blogs/social media sites for negative comments re: organization, and respond quickly and appropriately.
