  1. In our readings we are warned against appearances of power & authority. Jesus compares the kingdom to a seed & to yeast not majestic power.
  2. Correction it is Sirach 44: 1-15
  3. Today's readings are Sirach 44: 1-5, Rev. 16: 12-21, Luke 13: 18-30. The psalms are 70, 71 and 74
  4. Put on the orange paraments for our Taize worship tonight 6:00. Why orange? Liturgically neutral color they use @ Taize monastery.
  5. In our Gospel Jesus is asked if some Galileans brought suffering on themselves. Jesus calls them to account telling to look at their sin.
  6. Our readings today are Sirach 43: 1-22, Rev. 14:14-15:8, Luke 13: 1-9 and the psalms are 61,62 68:1-20 (21-23), 24-36
  7. Today is the feast day of Richard Hooker, Anglican theologian. He reminds us the church is not an assembly but continues outside of worship
  8. Today is the feast day of "All Faithful Departed". This is the day we remember all the faithful departed - known & unknown.
  9. Jesus is telling his followers the road ahead will be pretty rough. Following Jesus is not the easy path. Not easy being Christian @ UW!

  20. Jesus' message Luke is a tough one. He is calling the people out of darkness & into the light. The crowds want a show. Jesus offers life.
