  1. The next Urban Islands will be in 2011. And with that: the 2009 session comes to a close. Watch for recaps on various blogs... [GM]
  2. So thanks again! Incl. @jordesign for the ongoing coverage, @soundscrapers for the blog updates, @kmitts for saying hello, and on & on. [GM]
  3. ...by way of island overlooks, 1:1 scale drawings installed on the landscape, artificial weather systems and so on. Plus beer. [GM]
  4. Ship hulls of light hanging in space, curtains of disintegrating fabric, and a tunnel full of spatial Tarot cards rediagnosing the island...
  5. Nearly 12 straight hours out there, from finishing installations to presenting all our work to a BBQ, then running to catch the ferry. [GM]
  6. Thanks to everybody who came out to Cockatoo yesterday - students, reviewers, architects, organizers, instructors - we had a blast. [GM]
  7. Off to the island now, catching the 7:20 ferry... An army of sleepless architects ships itself seaward. [GM]

  12. ...from Mark Smout's group and the "robotic textiles" and artificial weather systems of Mette Ramsgard Thomsen's group. All ends tmw! [GM]
  13. My own studio is producing 16 fantastically imaginative projects - and that's before I've even mentioned the "luminous projectiles"...
  14. ...through the island 4000 years from now, a horror comic book about mass resurrection via industrial cranes, a new boardgame and so on [GM]
  15. We've got what might be called counterfeit archaeological scifi, "the Woodward & Bernstein of reappearing ships," a photo-tour...
  16. Very impressed by how much work these guys have done in only two weeks (one week, really). In one full term we could invent a universe. [GM]
  17. I'm here with some of my students finishing up their projects - an awesome blend of counterfeit documents and fake future projections. [GM]
  18. Our final day here in the studio is oddly silent: Mark Smout's and Mette Thomsen's groups are out on the island installing their work. [GM]
