  4. Got back late last night from a trek up North Fork Skokomish to Home Sweet Home. Beautiful trip, tho' heavy rain sent us back a day early.
  5. Woke today to see barn swallows playing in the morning sun, blue sky, dark green Douglas firs, and the bright yellow walls of my new house.
  6. Soda fountain at Don's Pharmacy in PT for lunch. Like a trip to 1962.
  7. Climbed Mt Townsend with Kate & Myron today. Panoramic view of Strait of Juan de Fuca, inner Olympics, Puget Sound. Alpine wildflowers.
  8. Safely landed and settling in again in Port Townsend. Looking forward to a classic Fourth of July: friends, food, fireworks on the beach.
  9. Deep into packing. Came here three years ago with a backpack & duffle... Now 23 boxes & counting, and a houseful of furniture to abandon...
  10. Rainy season in Tokyo. The sound of rain drumming on the roof and on the veranda outside, punctuated by distant thunder.
