  3. ChromeOS verdict: currently unusable as one needs to be a Google employee to use the "Short Links" feature (like the Start Menu in windows)

  5. Typing this from ChromeOS on an EEE
  6. FAIL: finished building ChromeOS on Debian. USB image is 2.8GB. The largest USB key I have is 2GB :-(
  7. Note to people trying to build ChromeOS: it can't be done with root. A plain user with wide sudo rights is needed to comply with the scripts

  9. The irony: http://us2.php.net/releases... (get it while it's unpatched)
  10. @torbjornvatn Me is an hour away of booting ChromeOS :) (if the hardware is compatible...)
  11. Trying to build ChromeOS on Debian. Docs says only Ubuntu works, but I'm crossing my fingers.

  13. @gisleh I was right, ChromeOS is indeed using Xorg. A new window manager though (using clutter for drawing): http://j.mp/2wPakJ
  14. If you want hardware accelerated graphics, ChromeOS only supports Intel i8xx and i9xx chipsets as of now.
  15. ChromeOS HEAD runs Linux 2.6.30 (Ubuntu flavored)
  16. ChromeOS uses the same login manager as I use on my box (Arch Linux install): http://slim.berlios.de/inde...
  17. Google ChromeOS source code: http://j.mp/3v8lMK
  18. @lillesand Worked fine at work and now at home. Probably some firewall or porxy blocking port 8880
  19. Spread the word: Microsoft is trying to patent Edvard Tufte's sparklines invention: http://j.mp/1nShgN
  20. @lillesand Serverside it uses http://tornadoweb.org and the client side long polling is just simple jQuery: http://j.mp/1EhRvq
