  2. three thousand things need done before five and none of them matter. so decide: what are you going to do with this one irreplaceable day?
  3. long thin grass, bent by wind, scratches my pants. two mourning doves, coral breasted, burst into the sky. they call your name and are gone.
  4. cool wet green grass on bare feet. that's what i want to remember, how it felt that one summer day when everything was blue sky perfect.
  5. we live at the edge of eternity, ever longing for more than we are, ever grasping, always knowing this flesh both a gift and a betrayal.

  8. i search for stillness now, a treasure hidden in the heart. silence soars like a hymn of cool water and wet green grass beneath bare feet
  9. i've been searching this city for a glimpse of the moon. downtown streets, quiet suburban lawns. all is lost without that pale silver light.
