  1. Genesis 48: Jacob, close the death, blesses Joseph's sons Manasseh and Ephraim, but crosses his hands so younger Eph is put first.
  2. Genesis 47: Pharaoh grants Israel land of Goshen. Famine persists; Joseph buys livestock and land from Egyptians in exchange for food.
  3. Genesis 46: God reassures Jacob in dream, telling him to go to Egypt. Joseph reunites with dad, plans way to be allowed to settle in Goshen.
  4. Genesis 45: Joseph tells his brothers it's really him, asks about Dad. Pharaoh sends carts to Canaan to get the rest of the family.
  5. Genesis 44: Joseph sends bros home, hiding silver cup in Benjamin's sack of grain. When "discovered", Judah offers to take Ben's place.

  9. Genesis 40: Joseph, in prison, interprets destinies of Pharaoh's cupbearer (good) & baker (bad). Cupbearer, restored to job, forgets Joseph.
  10. Genesis 39: Joseph, successful as a slave in Potiphar's house, entrapped by Po's wife for rejecting her advances. Imprisoned, still thrives.
  11. Genesis 38: Widowed Tamar refused kids by Onan; Judah avoids giving her Shelah. Tamar tricks Judah, gets pregnant, gives birth to twins.
  12. Genesis 37: Joseph's bros angered by ambitious dreams. Jo sold into slavery; colored robe presented to Jacob bloody as proof of his death.
  13. Genesis 36: Esau, aka Edom, had 4 wives and 5 sons in Canaan. Too crowded w/ Jacob's clan nearby; moves family to Seir. Many descendants.
  14. Genesis 35: Jacob builds an altar at Bethel; God blesses him. Rachel dies giving birth to Benjamin. Reuben sleeps w/ Bilhah. Isaac dies.
  15. Genesis 34: Shechem in love w/ Dinah, agrees to circumcision to marry her. Bros murder Shechem and kin for his improprieties to their sis.
  16. Genesis 33: Jacob apprehensively reunites w/ Esau, but is welcomed by bro. Children admired; gifts given. Jacob builds shelters at Sukkoth.
  17. Genesis 32: Jacob, returning home, sends 550 animals as a gift to pacify bro. Wrestles w/ God for blessing, dislocates hip, renamed Israel.
  18. Genesis 31: Jacob takes his family and flees Laban. Rachel steals her dad's household gods; Laban searches the camp for them unsuccessfully.
  19. Genesis 30: Intense child-bearing rivalry between sisters results in 12 offspring for Jacob, who leaves Laban with large, patterned flock.
  20. Genesis 29: Jacob sees Rachel at well, bargains 7 years wages for her hand. Tricked by Laban! Marries Leah, waits 7 more years for sis.
