  1. @calrion Personally, dunno about DB/2, but SQLS seems low maintenance, and oracle is meant to be fast.
  2. Oh holy crap! Still expensive! Might stick with made in china strobes for a bit longer.
  3. Uh oh. AlienBees have an Australian Distributor now?
  4. @calrion They might be different dialects, but I think you need to be cut from a certain cloth to be a DBA.
  5. @calrion lol, I think DBAs are DBAs regardless of dialect...
  6. Hmm, our wiki is down... cue to go home, I think.
  7. @calrion Slogan on Oracle Splash Screens, so sounds like you're pretty close.
  8. Oh yay! After going thru the symlinking malarkey described at http://bit.ly/8fpdOr my jdev 10g install works again...
  9. WTF does 'productivity with choice' mean anyway?????
  10. @kolofsen I've just found the 10g version i had doesn't work on snow leopard, so might be quicker to handcode at this rate. (oracle #FFFUUU)
  11. @kolofsen I don't actually use it. I run on the rare occasion I need to do some stuff with sqlj...
  12. JDeveloper 11g base install without JDK6 ~ 1.5Gb? W.T.F?
  13. @jolyonsuthers So you use per-app configuration? I can see how that can make your test/develop life *extremely* difficult.
  14. @jolyonsuthers Yeah. Spring + stuff registered against JNDI is a good combo.
  15. @jolyonsuthers Ooh, and the nice thing about the Spring EMF is that it allows you to override in configuration, values in persistence.xml
  16. @jolyonsuthers I wonder if I can getaway with registering a Spring EntityManagerFactory against jndi...
  17. @jolyonsuthers arse. So much for not using a full container...
  18. How does one make a JPA app portable? persistence.xml seems to be tying it down to a certain (db) plaltform...
  19. @davidcshepherd Gotcha. I think the UI of the tracker makes a big diff in how you use it as well. Jira is a lot cleaner than bugzilla imo
  20. @davidcshepherd Unconventional? Really? How do others use it?
