how come defectXMLList.Object.RootCause gives me an xml list but defectXMLList.Object.(RootCause = 'Code') gives me an error in flex 3?

There is one node in my XML doc in flex that i can't filter on, of course it's the one i need. I can display it just fine but i can't filter

Mate is a nice framework, i prefer the AppModelLocator to injectors, so that's what i'm using!
