My daughter learned meaning of "Memento Mori" from Flyleaf album name. Of course, I read Beowulf after seeing it adapted as a DC comic.

Bought Boneshaker. Staff at Kepler's used Amazon to find author name. Being able to describe the cover is not useful in a bookstore.

Saw some of Pete's Dragon. Art direction jarring. Lighting harsh. Like every outdoor scene shot at noon on a cloudless day. Yes, I'm visual.

@ Confit is not hard, just time consuming. Salt, wait 1day, simmer in fat. I use olive oil if duck fat unavailable. Mmm.

@ Came out great. Simmered carrots in broth, plucked out to eat separately. Carrots added sweetness. Added shiitake, ate as soup.
