  10. Marty in Houston: Worth noting that it's like 72 degrees here now, and doesn't feel muggy. It's an awesome words can't capture.#ike
  11. Marty: stayed the night in Sugar Land, which lost power only briefly. Many pumps still out, though. #ike
  12. Marty in Houston: Some gas stations have bags over pumps. "Have a nice day," one Chevron station wrote on the bags, with a smiley face.#ike

  14. Marty: As a Washingtonian, I thought I knew open spaces. But man, Houston to Orange is a hike — and that's only East Texas!#ike
  15. Marty: on I-10 in west Houston. Only a handful of cars in sight. Photog Laura, driving: "Wow, this is a once in a lifetime experience."#ike
  16. Marty: End of day status is that Bridge City, Orange have basically finished up rescues. Not sure when power, people coming back.#ike

  18. Marty in Houston: Between here and Louisiana, big caravans of emergency vehicles moving west on I-10. #ike
