  1. "in the human realm you can’t design a truly complex system from the top down. The Soviets tried that, as did the Brazilians with Brasilia."
  2. @Boidus however, I have a big bibliography/bloglist I could send you that has plenty of stuff to read on applications/program specifics
  3. @Boidus only writing I've done is quite academic, focuses on theorisation/fundamentals of parametric arch, not applications
  4. ...from Daniel Dennet's Freedom Evolves, ch2. So good. Parralels with the deleuzian virtual ontology perhaps
  5. "the concept of inevitability, like it's source concept of avoidance, properly belongs at the design level, not the physical level"
  6. ...utterly refuting determinism through the Game of Life as an ontological analogy
  7. @Boidus easiest way to get started is to use Rhino with the Grasshopper plugin imo. From there you can ramp up to rhinoscript if needed
  8. Dissertation handed in. Need to take an extended break from anything to do with deleuze or parametric architecture
  9. My abstract almost makes sense
  10. ... is the fact that contrary to popular belief, algorithims can produce results for which there is no intention or prediction thereof..."
  11. "It is a common belief that, at best, the computer can serve merely as a processor of information ... what makes this process problematic..
  12. she seems to be saying the same thing as prince-ramus/REX. Focus on learning tools at design school - esp marketing, law, etc
  13. Reviewing my Peggy deamer lecture notes. Contract law = critical to enabling new modes of practice between designers/fabricators/assemblers
  14. @agfa8x totally. It's seductively easy to use, even when dealing with vastly nested complexities
  15. "A plan is always section, 1 meter above the ground. You cannot ignore this"
  16. Crit complete. "Good idea and rationale, but underbaked resolution". I'll take that...
  17. Apparenly happened in the mid 90s, but I'm interested in who the main exponents were. Kwinter/ANY/???
  18. Anyone know of an article that examines the emergence of deleuzian theory in architecture?
  19. Just realized I haven't slept since wedn morning. Guess it's that time of year again #designschool
  20. Want REX to publish a book. Everything Joshua Prince-Ramus says I agree with
