  1. @atduskgreg if there is another @cyborgcamp next year, you should come back to PDX to present that talk.
  2. @rcoder my condolences :(
  3. great to see @anselm will be curating @dorkbotsf for a bit. We still feel like he belongs to @dorkbotpdx, though. ;~)
  4. @codemonkeyism don't get me wrong, though - it's not the answer to everything, obviously. but it's a very, noteworthy development.
  5. @codemonkeyism @ryah has taken pains to make even the core IO event based. it makes a difference, really.
  6. @codemonkeyism more lightweight, simpler, easy build. few deps and all are included in the download. fully event-based. &c.
  7. @sbtourist @codemonkeyism something cool is already happening in JavaScript-land -- it's called node.js ;~)
  8. @bleything about once every week or two I try to come up with some use for elastic map reduce. it's kinda sad, really...
  9. @paigesaez well, in the past few years, it has been slightly beyond impossible. this year it might tip slightly back the other way.
  10. wow, it's actually looking like there's a remote chance in hell that I *will* be able to go to SXSWi this year
  11. RT @jchris: watched @ryah on node.js http://j.mp/87GAH5 they are getting things right.
  12. hmm, now I'm contemplating using the C++ driver for my node.js mongodb driver. would hopefully be damn fast
  13. @doppler if you're in that big of a hurry, you have other problems. seek help.
  14. @doppler I write checks at the grocery store all the time, got a problem with that?
  15. hmm, wondering if a node.js + mongodb combo could somehow work as a CouchDB-alike.
  16. Kind of thinking I should dig out Javascript: The Good Parts tonight for a refresher.
  17. thankfully, MongoDB has excellent docs on writing drivers. What a refreshing thing to find.
  18. reading up on mongodb drivers, considering implementing one for node.js -- seems like a perfect pairing.
  19. as if I'm not doing anything important at the moment and want to just drop everything.
  20. I hate it when people walk up to me while I'm at the computer and say "hey, can you look something up" and then just stand there waiting...
