  1. They let us go! Win!!!
  2. I've learned something today: if nothing else, all Americans share a hatred of Jury Duty. There's one issue on which we have common ground!
  3. Bad news: there are more jurors required than jurors available. If I'm lucky, I won't hit the final group of 60. Could be a few hours. Ugh.
  4. Didn't get called for either of the first two groups of 60. Enough folks here for maybe one more group, but I'm hoping they send us home.
  5. @BenThrashers hmm, that's both good and bad. It's nice to be objective, but at the same time, judging player value by stats can be tricky.
  6. @BenThrashers Hopefully that trend continues. The arbitration process is terrible for both sides, player and team.
  7. Guys here trying to get on wireless but it's password-blocked. I figured one out and told them. They didn't think to try guest/guest? :-)
  8. Douche with cuffed Dockers and a gel-held combover next to me is reading Atlas Shrugged. Resisting the urge to call bullshit on it. Barely.
  9. Today I'll be tweeting live from the Fulton County Courthouse... Yes, it's Jury Duty time. Mistake #1: apparently you can bring laptops :-(
  10. Thought: this week the US turned toward a better balance... Al Franken is a Senator and Sarah Palin is unemployed. I'm grinning ear-to-ear.
  11. Shit. My gamble failed: my standby group was called in for jury duty tomorrow. This is really, really bad timing. Ughhhhh.
  12. @ElizaPatricia Outliers is fantastic, a very interesting read in the mold of another favorite, Freakanomics. Oh, and it's on Kindle too!
  13. @str1fe There are ridiculous things about other states too. Georgia will moderate over the next 10 years because of folks moving here.
  14. Set off $1000 of fireworks with only a couple minor burns and just two charges blowing up on the ground. A successful evening!
  15. Yeah, that goes for all of you: America's birthday is Constitution Day in September. Just for correctness.
  16. @tonisibert Actually, America's birthday is in September. Just saying! ;-)
  17. Gonna be a fun night http://twitpic.com/99i5s (via @dfabiniak) Yeah, I have to light all this crap. Nearly took my head off once or twice.
  18. I hereby coin a new term: Palinoia, the intense and term-ending fear that everybody in the media is out to get you.
  19. Dear Republicans: how's that implosion going? No more Sarah Palin is the best gift a science-loving pragmatist can get!
  20. @blankspace6 No kidding. I just went under contract on one. Good luck!
