  1. our combined sickness has left us dropping in and out of daytime tv. Which is why we seem to be watching an nz medical drama...
  2. looks like tomorrow will be a good day for some more experimental twitter mining...
  3. I may have only spent 20 mins there, and it's summer so no one's there, but uwa's new science library may be how all new libraries should be
  4. Jarvis Cocker rocked out, covered the Doors, and hid offstage waiting to play his own hidden track. if not for Mr Byrne, concert of the year
  5. power out in the Reid library! #mondaydramas
  6. also: uwa, thank you very much for signing up to eduroam, and for getting it working ahead of summer. now for a big summer of writing...
  7. survived the weekend in busso (and the drive there and back), now at uwa, reading and sorting out 'visiting postgrad' status
  8. last flight for the year coming up. Brisbane, I'll see you in 2010
  9. "two laptops" highfield. with those and a ukulele, gonna have a ridiculous amount of hand luggage for 8am tomorrow morning...
  10. listening to last week's #isihac - so many terrible puns + Graeme Garden singing along w/ Kraftwerk is (sadly) my kind of Monday night in
  11. @Tidge77 ah, cool - understand the dilemma, after staying under fans all day to avoid heat, don't want to think either - QI evening for me!
  12. @Tidge77 well sure, you could do that, the other option had benefits for me though :p
  13. @Tidge77 Moon! cos I want to know if it's any good, all I know about it is Bowie's son, Zaphod from not-so-good h2g2 film, and Matt Berry ;)
  14. considering size of gabba crowd, why is the full day's cricket on (bne) tv? not complaining, but usually it'd only be on if sold out, right?
  15. from the grauniad: with expanding ticketing systems, is it the end of the line for the Harry Beck Tube map? http://bit.ly/7dvsa6
  16. and if not, can we get this happening in the next year or so? (uwa give phd folk this: http://bit.ly/8dPbah - stolen from @tamaleaver)
  17. the success of @scroeser reminds me, does qut give folk anything as cool as uwa (for drinking tea, anyway) when you hand in your phd?
  18. @snurb_dot_info Eurosphere presentation at #pdfeu, more to come later on the accompanying post: http://bit.ly/cqSqw (and now I'm going home)
  19. @snurb_dot_info will do! I should probably go home soon anyway (certainly by their networking lunch!)
  20. @snurb_dot_info yep - I got a preview of some new visualisations last month (possibly including eurosphere - it was definitely mentioned...)
