  1. Fane Lozman told me he heard that Jery Putnam & Townsends were uncorking champagne last night -- they were so happy ton get off for $11MM.
  2. Lew Borsellino told me that will not happen. The $11MM is not at risk if they go for punitive. Lew coached football last night.
  3. The plaintiffs are going for punitive damages as well. That could be jeopardized according to Fane Lozman if the judge holds up the $11MM.
  4. Also, the plaintiffs will go for interest on the amount of the award which puts them back to March 1998 and that gives them an extra $11MM.
  5. And now for the rest of the story on Borsellino v. Putnam. The jury foreman told Lew that "I tried" acknowledging the low damages award.
  6. My brother cannot spell even after I spell it out for him. Lew Borsellino is Lew, not Lou.
  7. Reporters at the trial verdict included The Trib, Bloomberg, Reuters, Crain's and a little known online newsletter called The May Report.
  8. The words may be that they are satisfied, but the body language is that Lew & his lawyers are not happy. Expert witnesses cost a ton of $.
  9. I am back home now. The jury took 8 hrs. 15 min. to deliberate and sign the paperwork. Lew Borsellino has to be a very unhappy man tonight.
  10. Judge Ronald Bartkowicz told me that there will be about 60 days of post trial motions before he can make himself available for interviews.
  11. When you consider the legal cost involved, this was a breakeven case. Not good.
  12. But of course Lou is unhappy with the amount of the damages.
  13. This case took 9 years and millions of dollars to litigate. Lou feels vindicated in that fraud was proved.
  14. The plaintiff's lawyer, Jon Loevy, stated the plaintiff will appeal on punitive damages
  15. Jury VERDICT for Lew Borsellino - the plaintiff - on ALL counts v Jerry Putnam and the Townsends in the amount of $11MM
  16. Judge Bartkowicz said the avg. jury delib. time is 4.5 hrs. It's likely they're discussing $ which means a probable decision for plaintiff.
  17. Borsellino v Putman Case -- NO DECISION -- 12.5 days of trial, 4.5 hrs jury deliberation. Should know decision tomorrow.
  18. @stcorbett If you were in that meeting, what was it all about? And who were some of the people there?
  19. @stcorbett Were you at the CEC last Fri. in a group mt. of about 25 people including Kapil, David W., Troy Henikoff? I thought I saw you.
  20. @csrollyson I've also heard that Tech Nexus (Hoch/Howerton) also booted Rollyson out who was spending much time there & not paying for it.
