Well tonight we are completing the update of all our VM's to hardware 7. This also involves some optimizing. Next step: thin provisioning!

Hmpff! Cant assign the same MAC address to the VMXNET 3 adapter. Need to get a new Kofax license before we can update to hardware 7. *sigh*

@ It took about 3 hours per host. We first built a profile and then " remediated" the server differences against that profile.

Whooot! All hosts now migrated to vSphere V4. All we have to do now is to update all the virtual machines' hardware platform v7

Maintenance finished, all servers back up, all systems tested. Went a lot faster than we thought. UPS could have remained on for an hour.

All 120 VM servers turned off. Citrix servers down. We are leaving the HP Eva up, UPS reports that on current load it will last an hour.
