Chairman: we understand why Fabio wasn't happy with decision of captaincy. I sympathise with him on that.

Chairman: been working in a code of conduct for players. Will be in place in the next few months. Players involved in discussions on this.

Chairman: Capello was expensive, but not a mistake. He's done a great deal of good for us in qualifying.

Bevington: plans for the tournament are very much advanced and any manager will come into the role able to hit the ground running.

Chairman: we're open minded to the role. A lot has happened in 8 days.

Chairman: next manager will not definitely be English. It's preferable, but we want the best manager.

Bernstein: It's early days and we will look at (a short list) this tomorrow.

Alex Horne: No point having a manager who didn't want to be in the job so we accepted his decision.
