  4. I have no idea how I am a biology teacher. Seeing blood and guts still makes me queasy. :S
  5. Visited the Body Worlds exhibit today at the Ontario Science Centre. Fascinating and totally gross at the same time!
  6. All this from reviewing comments from my last PD session on Assessment for Learning...how can we still think regurgitation is okay?
  7. Sometimes I feel like opening up my own school - one that followed equity practices, assessment for learning, differentiated instruction...
  8. We need to not be scared of technology - we need to embrace it and all that it does for us and can do for us in the classroom.
  9. We need to let go of the need to teach the way we were taught - the world is light years away from when we were in school.
  10. Just finished the 5 day Schools Attuned training- talk about PD overload! Great stuff though- speaks to equity for all (different) students.

  12. Teaching literacy is the domain of all subject areas since it's multi-faceted. Need more literacy in the trades than to go to uni.
  13. It is the job of secondary school teachers to teach reading if their students don't know how to - these kids don't stand a chance otherwise.
  14. Doing a two hour presentation on cultural proficiency to a school staff of 140. Any suggestions? :)
