  1. Per the ruby-talk discussion a few days ago, just sent a mass email to all RubyForge project admins about the gem index change
  2. webalizer on the gemcutter logs http://infoether.com/~tom/g... , latest_specs.4.8.gz wins
  3. @drnic might as well since now it's just pointing over to the gemcutter index
  4. @seacreature folks should push to gemcutter directly... there's a sync script, but it's not authenticating as the user who released the gem
  5. @mfeathers I've created or saved two of those already today!
  6. In other news, rails will be atop this graph in 2-3 days http://gemcutter.org/stats
  7. note to self: PassengerMaxPoolSize defaults to 6. Do not forget this when configuring the primary Ruby gem index Rails app.
  8. Disabled RubyForge gem index cron jobs... had been running variations of those since 2003! It's been a good time. Go @rubygemcutter!
  9. Ha, just learned about :dependent => :nullify. Handy!
  10. RT @rubygemcutter DNS for gems.rubyforge.org will be pointed to Gemcutter around 10PM EST tonight. Woot!
  11. gemcutter.org memcached hit rate 85%, 'tis nice
  12. @rbates re Myth, so true, I can still remember the voices saying "your orders sir!" and the dwarves grumbling as they moved
  13. @machvee nice one! and it all boils down to one SQL query.... good times.
  14. @mentalguy no worries! gemcutter is ruby central approved, should be a great replacement for RubyForge's old PHP junx
  15. @wndxlori The ones I'm doing are just simple ones, like replacing 'is_active = 0' with Foo.is_active. But yeah, something to watch for.
  16. Replacing SQL with named scopes. This reduces the amount of green text in my TextMate window.
  17. @david_a_black hey, congrats! Welcome back to being a FTE!
  18. @neerajdotname cool, you're all over it, thanks!
  19. Using @neerajdotname's http://bit.ly/MBEuM for http://militaryprofessional..., great stuff!
  20. @peterc hehe, yeah, a blast from the past! Just collecting some notes on native extensions, FFI, Ruby API usage patterns, all that.
