  1. The building where Bret and Jemaine live in "Flight Of The Conchords", is real: it lies barely 500m from the World Trade Center site.
  2. And BTW, that doesn't mean that QI bores me to sleep - I now feel like that Tom and Jerry cartoon where Tom tries to tape his eyelids open.
  3. If I can, I'll watch the new episode of QI on the iPlayer before turning in. Mind you, I feel like I want to sleep until tomorrow teatime.
  4. @BingFutch ...although, you might want to watch this space as we get closer to Christmas...
  5. @BingFutch It depends on us finishing it off first ;-) Probably giving the CD to family/friends in 09; maybe selling a 'deluxe' ed in 10?
  6. Not convinced a whole afternoon of "Horrid Henry" gives a great example to kids - though it raises the odd wry smile in this grown-up...
  7. Slowly making my way through the "Flight Of The Conchords" DVD box set. If these guys aren't big fans of Christopher Guest, I'll be stunned.
  8. According to Wikipedia's references (http://bit.ly/6rscFb), Irish coffee was created in the 20th century, though the exact date is debated.
  9. Wonder if what I read earlier is true: that Irish coffee was 'invented' only in 1942, for the passengers of a grounded flying boat.
  10. @BingFutch: ah, I've been here as always! Trying to finish a mini-album of Christmas pieces with my wife; some electric dulcimer there :-)
  11. Upgrading to Firefox 3.5 with the 'factory' Eee Linux: http://wp.me/pG8pY-1B
  12. New blog post: Accessing Google services via 'https' URLs http://bit.ly/8mFSMR
  13. And, a new hashtag for a 1980s British childrens' TV show created by David McKee: #kingrollofriday [I'll stop now ;-)]
  14. At last, a Twitter hashtag devoted to those resourceful folk who produce sound FX for TV, radio and film with found objects: #foleyfriday
  15. @jodge_mckoo Actually, these days I miss almost everything on TV that I like; scheduled telly is nigh-on impossible for me. Go iPlayer...
  16. Hmm. Our local Woolworths (empty nearly a year now) is showing signs of internal refurbishment. And I thought it would be the last one.
  17. RT @MitchBenn #MuppetsXmas Release Muppet Bohemian Rhapsody! Xmas no.1! Please RT [glad to oblige; I must see this...]
  18. @tymkemp: is that THE Tim and Lois? Pls say a big 'hi' from me if you still can: would love to catch up sometime...
  19. So it sounds as if Borders UK is in administration; they closed their store in my old hometown (Swindon) in August, so sad but unsurprising.
  20. Very grateful for the BBC iPlayer, as I missed the new series of "QI" on BBC1 last night.
