i rarely use the old TNS connect syntax with sqlplus anymore. I'm used to sqlplus user/pass@server:port/service syntax now!

an SSD hard drive for my laptop is my 2nd best investment in tech gadgets. 1st: noise-cancelling headphones. iphone will be 3rd :)

@ yep, agreed, some of the tasks could be automated... like the vm(ware) tools zeroing out the unused space etc

i just reduced my winXP VM size from 46GB to 11GB by dropping a snapshot, zeroing unused space (sdelete -c) and shrink disk
